Prešeren square

Developed from a road junction in front of one of the city gates leading to medieval Ljubljana. Next to the junction, a Franciscan church of the Annunciation was built in the 17th century, but the junction was turned into a square and paved only after the city walls were pulled down in the middle of the 19th century.

The Dragon Bridge

The symbol of Ljubljana decorates the first reinforced concrete bridge in the city. Taking a picture next to one of the four copper dragon sculptures is a must. The bridge is also decorated with several smaller dragon statues, which are often overlooked due to the sheer presence of the aforementioned copper statues. The bridge has been open for traffic since 1901..

Ljubljana Castle

Ljubljana’s main attraction stands on top of the hill, in the historic part of the city. Constructed in the 11th century, it was completely rebuilt in the 15th century. The castle’s Panoramic tower offers one of the most beautiful views of the city and on top of that, the Alps are completely visible on a normal day. Inside the castle, you will find a restaurant, bar, museum, and a number of historical parts of the castle – the Chapel of St George, the Prison… .
